I didn’t just wake up one day and decide, “You know, I think I’m gonna find out why I’ve struggled my whole life with constant weight gain, chronic joint pain, sleepless nights, anxiety, depression, and helplessness.” Because instead, it took decades of thinking that was just normal. And then just six days before my 50th birthday I got a very serious wake-up call, that finally got me urgently researching what the hell was going on.
So, while you won’t find big-name credentials or a million followers here, you will find someone dedicated to transforming research and personal experience into impactful insights for those navigating midlife. And someone who’s especially eager to contribute meaningfully to this conversation.
When life tests you and practically scares you to death, it forces you into action. And for me, that action meant diving deep into research. I’ve done the hard work to understand it all and piece it together. So yes, I’m a writer and researcher, a connector of dots and synthesiser of information, and an aspiring author and mentor for midlife women.
Behind everything you see here is a woman who, after that life-threatening health scare, became dedicated to transforming her journey into something meaningful for others, hence the catalyst for Midlifestyle School.
For decades I battled emotional eating, fluctuating weight, hormonal shifts in menopause, in conjunction with the challenges of undiagnosed APD, ADHD and diagnosed visual dyslexia. Ironically, I found purpose and a newfound appreciation for life in the bittersweet serendipity of a life-threatening health scare — an experience that ultimately helped me identify what truly works.
In 2023 over 8 months, I achieved what once felt impossible. I lost 34kg, conquered emotional eating, lowered my cholesterol and glucose levels, and, for the first time in years, I’m finally moving through life free of chronic pain and full of energy. Who knew?!
And instead of just getting through it, I’ve made it my mission to break down each piece, research what works, and find real solutions. I can honestly say that this research has been both deeply rewarding and profoundly validating — as it’s given me the answers I didn’t even know I needed.
This space is where I share the insights I’ve worked hard to uncover, as well as, research-backed strategies for midlife, so you don’t have to wade through the noise alone. I get how impersonal and overwhelming advice can feel, especially when you’re searching for real answers.
But my approach is different — I’m not here with clichés or quick fixes. Instead, you’ll find solid, practical answers to help you take control of this chapter of your life with confidence. I may be an everyday midlife woman, but I’ve got real answers for real challenges, presented in a way that’s as relatable as it is actionable.
But most importantly, I’m someone who actually cares about you and the changes you need to make now in your midlife transition, so you can have a second chance at a better life in your second half.
