And once you’ve developed those skills using the framework I talk about, you can actually apply it to yourself, when you’re on your own, and don’t have anyone to lean on. And as an emotional eater, this is a brilliant tool you can use to help you talk yourself through an unwanted thought or story that is giving you the urge to eat without any control. This episode demonstrates how to apply active or motivational listening skills by providing that support or encouragement to others in a real-life scenario, whilst also showing the connection to how you can use this as a tool to manage your emotional eating as it incorporates self-awareness and mindfulness, empathy and understanding, patience and focus.
